Last night I fell asleep to the sound of wind chimes and a cool breeze blowing through our bedroom window after a summer rain. It was the most sweet and deeply relaxing night rest, listening to the music of the wind and drifting off into a state of nothingness.
I am going to write a poem about it and share it with you all when I am done.
Back from my experiential hiatus and ready to move lovingly and powerfully forward with you all, posting useful and timely notes, stories, articles and resources from myself and many of my teachers and mentors whose wisdom and guidance have and continue to support me on my business and personal development journey on the earthly plane.
I will also share resources that will reinforce your spiritual walk and help you tune in more profoundly to your highest self.
Today I am sharing an article with you about the Power of Story. It is within all of our grasp to create and imagine our highest aspirations into existence by writing the story of our ideal selves, circumstances and dreams instead of letting the story write us. Our choices determine our destiny and if properly contemplated, mapped out and executed from a space of faith, joy and gratitude—there is not limit to what we can accomplish! Enjoy this article! You’ll be hearing again from me very soon.
Keeping you posted,

The Power of Story
Stories reflect our unique interpretation of our world of experience. The stories we tell represent the single most powerful tool we have for managing energy and achieving any important mission in life. We have stories about our work, our families and relationships, our health; about what we want and what we’re capable of achieving. Yet, while our stories profoundly affect how others see us and we see ourselves, too few of us even recognize that we’re telling stories, or what they are, or that we can change them - and, in turn, transform our very destinies. The most important story we will ever tell about ourselves is the story that we tell to ourselves. THE POWER OF STORY shows the ways in which our stories can be altered to change our lives exponentially.
Telling ourselves stories provides structure and direction as we navigate life’s challenges and opportunities, and helps us interpret our goals and skills. Stories make sense of chaos; they organize our many divergent experiences into a coherent thread; they shape our entire reality. And far too many of our stories, says Loehr, are dysfunctional, in need of serious editing. First, he asks you to answer the question, “In which areas of my life is it clear that I cannot achieve my goals with the story I’ve got?” He then shows you how to create new, reality-based stories that inspire you to action, and take you where you want to go both in your work and personal life.
Inspired by the techniques he’s taught at the Human Performance Institute in Orlando, Florida, Loehr’s THE POWER OF STORY offers the principles and methods that top Fortune 500 companies have paid millions to train their employees in this groundbreaking technology. Global business leaders, world-class athletes, military Special Forces, and thousands of individuals from every walk of life have sought out and benefited from his life-altering insight and expertise.
THE POWER OF STORY allows us to identify our purpose – our life’s mission – and confront our current dysfunctional stories to determine how we can edit and create new stories that are fully aligned with our ultimate purpose. With a clear, exercise-driven roadmap, THE POWER OF STORY invites readers to storyboard their missions in life – a process for examining which areas of their lives are not working, where behavior is not aligned with their core purpose.
To ensure that these “mission critical” areas see genuine transformation, THE POWER OF STORY presents a ninety-day plan to guarantee that readers’ new stories become reality. With guidelines to articulate new stories, Loehr invites readers to write a new story that is fully aligned with their ultimate purpose, that reflects the truth, and that inspires hope-filled action. Loehr’s plan includes explicit rituals – “consciously acquired habits of behavior that enhance energy management in service of your mission” – and a daily accountability system that will put in place, and secure, the process of transformation.
When Loehr appeared on the “Oprah” show in 2003, he shared that managing energy, not time, was the key to enduring high performance as well as to health, happiness, and life balance. Now, with THE POWER OF STORY, Loehr convincingly shows how the stories we tell ourselves and others form the basis of effective energy management. Put simply, energy follows our stories. We give life to something with every story we tell.
Our capacity to tell stories is one of our profoundest gifts. Loehr’s approach to creating deeply engaging stories will give you the tools to wield the power of storytelling and forever change your business and personal life.
In his groundbreaking new book, THE POWER OF STORY: Change Your Story, Change Your Destiny in Business and in Life, Dr. Jim Loehr, Chairman, CEO and Co-founder of the Human Performance Institute and New York Times bestselling co-author of The Power of Full Engagement, examines the way we tell stories about ourselves to ourselves - and, most important, the way we can change those stories to transform our business and personal lives.
